Iconic Women Proved That Together as 'Naam' - We Can Do Great Things!

Suhasini Mani Ratnam, wife of critically acclaimed director Mani Ratnam, founded the Naam Foundation in 2010 to empower women from underprivileged backgrounds. The Foundation works with women volunteers, who are are known as Naam Thozhigal, who are task to reach out to women below the poverty line all over Tamil Nadu and empower them to become self-sufficient, in order for them to be an instrument in providing their families with a better life.

In support of the Foundation that has helped thousands, photographer G Venket Ram has unveiled his much-awaited 2020 calendar, an ode to Raja Ravi Varma, a renowned artist from the nineteenth century. The recreation was made possible with the involvement of iconic stars from the Indian cinema and dance scene among others, who immortalised 12 of the art pieces for the calendar. 

Among the celebrities were Shruti Haasan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Ramya Krishnan, Nadhiya, Khushbu Sundar, Bharatnatyam dancers Shobana and Priyadarshini Govind, Aishwarya Rajesh, Lissy Lakshmi and Lakshmi Manchu.

The celebrities expressed their happiness to be a part of the recreations of Raja Ravi Varma’s well-known paintings for G Venket Ram a leading Indian celebrity & fashion photographer’s 2020 calendar for the charitable trust Naam
