Today marks my first Monday not having to get up, get dress n rush to work, from Seremban to KL. However, I couldn't just sit home and ignore an interesting topic to write.
Since, the weekend paper has agreed for me to contribute after leaving, I’ve set some interesting interviews today.
What I did not expect on the day I was to write about those working with trains, is for a monorail tyre to catch fire and we had to do the interviews a little later as RapidKL takes care of the the local trains LRT, Putra and Rapid busses. The staff handling media had to first handle the unexpected Monday crisis.
So in the meantime, while waiting, I had the opportunity to decide what was for breakfast since the donush I wanted the have at The Loaf wasn’t available.
Walked around the Nu Central mall for a bit and stumbled upon a stall at a corner on level 4, offering hot karipap (curry puffs). What a delightful discovery I told myself and decided to try them.
Karipap at ‘Kampung Kravers’
I ordered a chicken karipap and custard cream puff. I would advice you get the large karipap though as the normal is a little too small for those like me who love their kampung treats.
The karipap was too small for me to judge but the custard puff was yummie. More than generous stuffing you don’t always get elsewhere.
Here’s the menu so you know what else you could have besides the fried Malaysian tea time snack.
They also have packs for party
Ready made flavors to try in your kitchen
Herbal tea in a jar
Will surely head back when I krave for some kampung snacks, the karipap, to especially try the mushroom mayo and of course the place to go for other local delights like roti jala.
At about 12.30, it was time to meet the men behind the smooth public transport operations, who work when we are fast asleep. So off I went to the Subang Jaya depot.
Coming soon in the New Sunday Times, ‘When KL sleeps…’
