Dellagawathi Ramanathan, fondly known as Dellaga, a pioneer silk thread jewellery designer in Malaysia who turned her passion for the unique craft into an online business three years ago, today has her brand DD Creation receiving love from global fashion lovers!

Dellaga who received many rejections when she just started, pointed out that small business and handmade craft designers should never stop believing in themselves. 

"You must keep calm and don't feel insecure when you see others post on social media, instead you should be inspired to create your art. Once you know how to leverage on your strength and express it the best way you can, then the greatest things will happen for you!"

"I still remember my first ever photoshoot after receiving many rejections from well known influencers and celebrities, I see that as a personal success as those who came forward approached me as they appreciated the work I do. There were no sponsorship or paid reviews and I feel that online business owners should not be pressured to do it just because some are constantly doing so."

She highlighted that women must not fail to lift up other women. "A lot of online businesses, with high following will only want to collaborate with well known vendors who have high following as well, but they go on talking about women empowerment online!"

They say that behind the success of every man is a woman and Dellaga says that behind the success of a woman is a man! 

Dellaga also shared that her husband takes the initiative to be involved with dealing with raw material purchasing, accounts, packaging, and even posting, which is why she named her brand DD Creation -D for Dellaga and D for her husband Dilip.
