Care to take up the plant a tree challenge? - Go Green Campaign 2016

Hot hot hot is the weather and Mannin Mainthan Malaysia has taken the effort to remind us that we can make a difference! Similar to the ice bucket challenge, local artist and Malaysians are challenged to plant a tree, upload a video and challenge their friends to do the same. With August being the Merdeka month, it sure is timely to give back to mother nature in a small but meaningful way to add some green around us and make the environment a little cooler.
Go Green Campaign 2016
The campaign kicked off on 9th July 2016. The
first #GoGreenCampaignWithMMM video was posted on 10th July by Actress/TV Host
Aruna Raj Devarajoo on her Facebook profile. This was followed by other
individuals in the industry who took up the challenge and posted videos to
support the campaign. The campaign later gained interest from the general
public who followed the example set by their favourite artists.

How did the Go Green Campaign come about?
Since our country's weather is heating up day by
day, as greenery is replaced by concrete jungle, we thought about an effort to
bring down the heat. The idea for the Go Green Campaign then came about to
bring awareness among the people, motivated by local artist to take up the
challenge. All they have to do is plant a tree, take a short video, post
it on Faceboook and challenge five other artist or friends to do the
same - MMM

Mannin Mainthan Malaysia (MMM) was set up in
October last year, as a
platform to recognize Malaysian Tamil Industry artists. MMM was founded by
Kumaran Puthianadar. He started the page to show his supports towards Malaysian
local artists who seem to lack online platforms to promote their achievement and
activities. He also writes for the page.
Shortly after, Tavetha Tannarsu joined MMM as
the Co-Founder and Writer. The team later expanded as Mia Menon, Bavani and Guru
joined as committee members and/or admins for the page. Others who came aboard
were Uma and Rebecca who joined the team as a additional writer/admin for MMM Facebook page.
