When the video of an ostrich running
on the Federal Highway was uploaded on Facebook, I surely did not believe it. Then
came a media report confirming the news and informing it has a name, Pekaboo! But
like a lot of other news in the country, we were later told it is actually
Chickaboo!
A most watched video since
yesterday has to be by local radio station BFM producer Jeff Sandhu, who saw
the giant bird sprinting from Jalan Universiti and onto the highway at about
3.20pm.
“From the UM bus top, it was
running on that road then it merged onto the Federal Highway and it was on the
fast lane, passing Bangsar South, RTM, it just kept running. It started out on
the slow lane then it went to the emergency lane. Then on the emergency lane it
overtook a car and ran across to the fast lane. It was just switching lanes
here and there,” he was quoted.
He added that the ostrich was
running at approximately 35km/h for about 2km and drove at 35km/h to match its
speed.

My only worry about this situation is that, tomorrow if a human does something strange, he/she may be the the next Chickaboo! Don't take anything too far my fellow social media users and give the birdie a break. I also suppose there will loads heading to the Ostrich farms this weekend for a selfie!
